Ukulele course 16th July - 22nd July
La Ferme du Soleil is hoping to host its first Ukulele and singing course in the Alps this July. This is a beautiful time of the year high in the Alpine pastures . Can you imagine playing your ukulele with a back cloth of Cows with bells and Alpine Flowers, interspersed with delicious healthy food and time to relax and enjoy the peace of the Alpages?!
It will be lead by Louise Burnet, a professional musician based on the West Coast of Scotland. Classically trained at the Royal College of Music, Louise has a wealth of musical experience that now stretches from leading groups of singers in Scotland to touring the USA recently with her chamber ensemble Vocali3e (soprano, flute, piano). "I believe strongly that everyone can and should sing. Add the ukulele and this will be a fun and rewarding musical experience set amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Haute Savoie.
The day will be interspersed with workshops and will work towards being able to perform in the open air(weather permitting) outside our mountain restaurants! Before the week begins we will circulate the chords that will be necessary to play in order to join in. This is not a course for complete beginners or advanced players! Its a time for people that want to create music together with their ukes and voices!
The course will run for 5 days. Arriving and settling in on the late afternoon Sunday 16th July 2017. If flying in we suggest you arrive at approx 1700 at Geneva airport. For leaving on Saturday 22nd July, we suggest aiming for an afternoon flight out of Geneva. This way people can share transport to the airport.
The cost of the course including wine and all meals will be £690.
